What we do
BBT works directly within rural and semi rural communities where access to services is limited. We reduce barriers by delivering programmes locally, using community based approaches that are practical and culturally responsive.
Girls & Young Women Empowerment (GALTEENS Programme)
We facilitate the GALTEENS programme, which promotes sisterhood among adolescent girls and young women. The programme equips participants with life skills, health knowledge, and information that supports informed decision-making and personal development.
Gender-Based Violence Support & Trauma Services
BBT provides:
Emotional containment and trauma counselling
Debriefing services for survivors and frontline responders
Community awareness around GBV prevention and response
Our work supports both individuals and systems responding to GBV.
Capacity Building for GBV Responders
We conduct training, mentorship, and coaching for:
NGOs
Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs)
These programs strengthen first-line GBV response and improve service coordination within communities.
Skills Development & Sustainable Livelihoods
We offer skills training aimed at equipping beneficiaries with practical abilities to access alternative and additional income streams, promoting long-term economic independence.
What we care for
Women and Girls
We care deeply about the safety, dignity, and empowerment of women and girls. Our work focuses on ensuring they have access to knowledge, life skills, and supportive environments that enable informed decisions about their health, wellbeing, and future. We believe empowered women and girls are central to strong and resilient communities.
Healing, Safety and Dignity
We care about communities that are safe and responsive to gender based violence and trauma. Bana Ba Thari prioritises psychosocial support, trauma informed care, and respectful responses that place survivors at the centre. Healing, for us, is not only personal but also communal and systemic.
Community Strength and Sustainability
We care about long term impact, not short term solutions. By building the capacity of local organisations, training frontline responders, and supporting sustainable livelihoods, we invest in systems that allow communities to support themselves and continue growing long after interventions end.
